The Symbol of the Labyrinth
Labyrinths are archetypes, divine imprints found across all religions. Unlike mazes, they
have only one path. There are no tricks, no dead ends. The winding path becomes a
mirror, gently reflecting where we are in our lives. It touches our sorrows and releases
our joys.
Trust over Control
On my first walk through the labyrinth, I knew I would eventually reach the center. Even
though I did not know the exact direction, I trusted the one who created it. I walked
peacefully, step by step, breath by breath, and arrived at the center after a long, quiet
journey.
This round taught me that I don’t need to control, be certain, or fully understand the path
of life. I can trust the Maker; my path is already scripted. My role is to walk peacefully,
faithfully, and with grace.
When our Mind Takes Over
On my second round through the labyrinth, I tried again to focus on my breath and
steps. But inner stories surfaced; some joyful, others painful. I lingered or resisted, and
in both cases, I lost presence. I was no longer walking; I was reacting.
Life is not Flat
This walk revealed a deeper truth: life is not just a single path; it’s a labyrinth overlaid
with a roller coaster, with our thoughts and emotions rising and falling. The paradox is
that we choose to ride the highs and lows, yet often blame others for where we are.
Return to Silence
The labyrinth reminds me I don’t need to control the journey. If I trust the path, the
destination reveals itself; it lives within me. Beneath the chaos lies quiet ground. Let
emotions appear and dissolve. Stay rooted. And keep walking.
How much energy do we waste trying to control a path that may already unfold exactly as it should?
Are our inner narratives guiding or distracting us from what truly matters?
How can we return to a deeper ground of clarity and presence in times of chaos?
